Spicy Chili

This spicy turkey chili is chock full of veggies, beans and flavor! It’s a great way to stay warm on a cold and snowy day and SO simple to make. This would make a great dish for a casual dinner party. Serve it with a big green salad. Then line the table with with little bowls of diced jalapenos, cubed cornbread, avocado, shredded cheese and Greek yogurt. Then let your guests create their own delicious meal!

Spicy Turkey Chili

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

  • 1 small yellow onion, diced

  • 1 organic red pepper, diced

  • 1-1.5 lb ground organic turkey breast

  • 16 oz can organic red beans

  • 16 oz can organic refried beans

  • 8oz organic organic tomato sauce

  • 26 oz box organic chopped tomatoes

  • 4.5 oz tube tomato paste

  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 3 Tablespoons chili powder (if you do not like your chili spicy, use less chili powder)

  • Few shakes of onion powder

  • Few shakes of Lowries seasoning salt

  • 1 Tablespoon molasses

Heat oil over medium heat in a large sauce pan or Dutch oven. Add onion and chopped pepper and saute for about 5 minutes. Add turkey and cook 5 – 10 minutes breaking the meat apart. Add in the rest of the ingredients, mix well and let simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with diced jalapenos, cubed cornbread, avocado, shredded cheese, Greek yogurt, etc and a big green salad. ENJOY!
