Black Sesame Crusted Wild Salmon
Salmon contains an abundance of nutritional benefits. It is loaded with heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin D and selenium. It has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, improve cardiac function and decrease inflammation. Just make sure to choose wild salmon. Wild salmon is able to swim freely and eat a natural diet which increase it’s nutritional benefits, while farm raised salmon is confined to small areas, reducing its nutritional quality as well as exposing the fish to toxic chemicals.
Today’s salmon recipe is simple and so good…both kids and my husband loved it!
Black Sesame Crusted Wild Salmon
2 6oz wild salmon filets
1 T honey
1 T soy sauce
1 tsp honey mustard
Black sesame seeds
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Mix together the honey, soy sauce and honey mustard. Pour over the fish and marinate for 15 minutes. Coat the flesh side of the salmon with a layer of black sesame seeds. Heat a non stick pan over high heat and sear the fish, seed side down, for 1 minute. Place skin side down on a baking sheet and back in the oven for 7 or 8 minutes. Serve with a green salad.
